Head Moderator Agreement

1. Purpose and authority

Staff permissions are provided to protect and manage the community, not to give staff an advantage over ordinary players. Staff must use access only for legitimate server duties and within the authority granted to them.

• Follow the server rules, staff procedures and lawful instructions from the Owner.
• Be fair, calm, respectful and consistent with every player.
• Do not use staff status to threaten, intimidate, embarrass, target or gain an advantage over a player.
• Do not misuse commands, creative access, vanish, teleportation, inventory access or other permissions for personal benefit, pranks that affect players, or entertainment.

2. Player safety and proportionate action

• Do not kill, punish, teleport, restrain or otherwise interfere with a player unless there is a legitimate and proportionate moderation or operational reason.
• Do not kill a player for a video, joke, demonstration or personal amusement.
• Listen when a player asks you to stop an action that is not necessary for moderation or safety. Explain any necessary intervention calmly.
• Check context and evidence before taking action. Use the least disruptive effective response.
• Never retaliate against a player for reporting staff conduct, questioning a decision or making a good-faith complaint.

3. Builds, property and griefing

Staff must not destroy, modify or damage builds, structures or creations belonging to other players without the creator's permission. Destruction is permitted only when the staff member is destroying something they personally created, or the original creator has explicitly given permission for it to be destroyed. Staff rank does not grant permission to grief another player's creations.

4. Integrity, privacy and confidentiality

• Keep staff discussions, reports, personal information, application details, credentials and private operational information confidential.
• Access private information only when required for your duties. Never share passwords, tokens or private logs.
• Declare conflicts of interest. Do not handle a complaint where you are personally involved if another suitable staff member can review it.
• Do not falsify evidence, records, activity or reasons for a decision.
• Do not share unreleased content or staff-only information without authorisation.

5. Accountability and Owner approval

• Record significant moderation and operational actions accurately and provide clear reasons.
• Cooperate with reasonable reviews and report mistakes promptly.
• Do not delete, conceal or alter records to avoid accountability.
• All staff appointments, promotions, demotions, dismissals, permission changes, hierarchy changes, policy changes and recruitment-setting changes require prior approval from the Owner. A recommendation or department role alone does not authorise a change.
• Only the Owner's approval through the designated process authorises the bot to apply a staff rank change.

6. Conduct and communication

• Remain professional in staff spaces and public channels.
• Do not bully, harass, discriminate against or deliberately provoke anyone.
• Do not disclose or discuss another person's private staff matter with uninvolved members.
• Raise disagreements through the appropriate staff process rather than arguing publicly or abusing permissions.

7. Rank-specific permissions and expectations

Permissions: Coordinate moderators, support training, review moderation quality, organise the moderation queue and bring staffing or policy recommendations to the Owner.

Responsibilities: You may supervise the moderation workflow, but you cannot independently appoint, promote, demote, dismiss, change permissions or amend policy. All such changes require prior Owner approval.

8. Agreement and enforcement

By selecting I Agree in the Beyond SMP Discord bot and entering your exact current Discord username, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to follow this agreement.

Breaches may be reviewed by the Owner and may result in guidance, restrictions, demotion or dismissal. Any formal staff-rank or permission change remains subject to Owner approval.
